WELCOME
Welcome to the nursery of the First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas.

You and your child are very important to us. We are dedicated to providing a safe and pleasant atmosphere designed to encourage and nurture children physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

NURSERY INFORMATION
ROOMS:

    The nursery is located in the Clark Child Development Center. The rooms are stocked with developmentally appropriate toys and books.

STAFF:

    We have a caring and experienced staff. Each staff member completes CPR training, background checks, and helth screenings yearly.

PARENTAL NOTIFICATION:

    Our nursery offers an on site paging system. Parents may be contacted quickly and discreetly using the vibrating pager.

CURRICULUM:

    We use Little Blessings nursery curriculum to guide little ones as they take their first steps in God's Kingdom.
 
NURSERY POLICIES


HEALTH

Bring your child only when he/she is well. Your child should be free of fever, vomiting, diarrhea and/or rashes, without medication for 24 hours. If your child has a runny nose or a continuous cough, do not bring them to the nursery. If your child should get sick after being checked into the nursery, we will call you.


MEDICATION

Our caregivers will not administer medication of any kind.


POSITIVE DISCIPLINE

Positive attention and redirection will be used.
 
NURSERY CHECK IN/OUT PROCEDURES
1. Sign your child in noting any allergies/special instructions and beeper number.

2. Place a nametag on your child's back.

3. MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR CHILD'S BELONGINGS ARE LABELED. LABEL DIAPER BAGS WITH YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BAG.

4. Send diapers, wipes, pacifier, bottle/formula and a change of clothes. Please DO NOT BRING TOYS.

5. Pick your child up promptly.

6. Be sure to sign your child out and turn in your beeper.

7. Help us secure each room by keeping the door closed. A nursery caregiver will assist you when entering and exiting the nursery.


Following these procedures will help to make your child's nursery stay safe and enoyable.
